WHEREAS, Debra Penny has performed in an outstanding manner in her position as Teacher-Member and Chairperson of the Teachers’ Retirement Board of the City of New York (TRS) and will be vacating the position following the January 2023 Board Meeting, and

WHEREAS, NYS Pension Law requires a special election to fill the vacancy of a Teacher-Member on the TRS board; and

WHEREAS, Victoria Lee has the confidence and support of the Teacher-Members of the Teachers’ Retirement Board of the City of New York, Debra Penny, Thomas Brown and David Kazansky; therefore, let it be

RESOLVED, that the United Federation of Teachers endorse Victoria Lee for election as a Teacher-Member of the Teachers’ Retirement Board of the City of New York for the remainder of Debra Penny’s term.
