Request a school visit

Representatives from various UFT departments are available to visit your school to speak with your members about important issues. To request a visit to your school, please fill out the appropriate form below.

  • Request a visit from the Grievance Department
    A member of the Grievance Department can cover the following topics: contract empowerment, per session, APPR complaints, reorganization grievances, class size grievances, corporal punishment/verbal abuse and other grievance issues.
  • Request a visit from the Safety & Health Department
    UFT Director of Safety and Health Jeff Povalitis or representatives Katrina Foye (Brooklyn), Susan Perez (Bronx), Sheila Laval (Manhattan), Roseann Altkatib (Staten Island), or Diane Yodice (Queens) of the Safety and Health Department can cover the following topics: environmental issues, school safety protocols and incident reporting.
  • Request a visit from the Pension Department
    Representatives from the UFT's Pension Department can discuss pensions and Tax-Deferred Annuities (TDAs).
  • Request a visit from the Welfare Fund
    Welfare Fund speakers are available to describe all of the benefits that the Fund has to offer. The presentation consists of an overview of Fund benefits, current health benefit information and a question and answer period.
  • Request a visit from Vice President for Education Evelyn De Jesus
    Evelyn De Jesus, the UFT's vice president for education, can cover the following topics: support for teachers of English Language Learners; professional development questions; mentoring; regulations related to ELLs; UFT educational programs and services; and others.
  • Request a visit from Vice President for Elementary Schools Karen Alford
    Vice President for Elementary Schools Karen Alford or a representative can cover the following topics: educational issues, new educator development, organizing, unionism, and chapter building, evaluation, consultation, contract enforcement and creating positive school culture.
  • Request a visit from Vice President for Middle Schools Richard Mantell
    Vice President for Middle Schools Rich Mantell can speak with middle school members about issues and concerns facing middle schools.
  • Request a visit from Vice President for Academic High Schools Janella Hinds
    Vice President for Academic High Schools Janella Hinds and representative Anthony Klug can cover the following topics: educational issues, new educator development, organizing, unionism, and chapter building, evaluation, consultation, contract enforcement and creating positive school culture.
  • Request a visit from Vice President for Career and Technical Education Sterling Roberson
    Vice President for Career and Technical Education Sterling Roberson can cover the following topics: educational issues, new educator development, organizing, unionism, and chapter building, evaluation, consultation, contract enforcement, creating positive school culture, CTE issues, interest in developing a CTE program, CTE advisory committee, industry partnerships and work-based learning.
