Bilingual Speech Symposium
Register to attend a joint UFT and Department of Education speech symposium titled “Bilingualism is a Superpower: Using a Metalinguistic Framework.” Participants will explore how the intentional use of two languages enhances articulation, phonological awareness, vocabulary, morphology, syntax and pragmatics — particularly for multilingual learners with IEPs.
We will also hold two afternoon workshops. One is titled "Protecting Immigrant Students and Families" and will be presented by UFT ELL specialist Katie Kurjakovic. We'll discuss how we can support immigrant students and families at a time when they may be feeling deeply unsafe.
Our second afternoon workshop, presented by UFT education liaison Thomas Pascarella, will provide you with valuable information regarding licensing/certification and sabbaticals.
Join us to develop your skills as a bilingual speech professional.
