Critical Thinking in the Age of AI

Learn to use AI with the AFT National Academy for AI Instruction. With AI-generated content on the rise in classrooms and beyond, it's up to educators to question and verify information before it reaches students. Join us to learn how!

Participants will explore layered prompting, a technique for breaking down complex prompts for generative AI, and learn the AFT's framework for evaluating claims, investigating sources, identifying missing perspectives and considering the consequences of using AI in the classroom. You will leave this session with the confidence to navigate AI tools with integrity, exercise critical thinking and encourage critical thinking in your students.
