The UFT Pride Committee is comprised of UFT members and staff who share a vision of inclusiveness and aim to advocate for LGBTQ+ issues. The committee accomplishes this goal by advocating for fair treatment in the workplace, promoting diversity and inclusion in education, promoting social justice and equitable treatment of LGBTQ+ individuals in society and by increasing awareness around health issues in the LGBTQ+ community. We also regularly participate in pride events, marches and celebrations throughout the community.
Please join, stay in touch and learn more about the committee. For more information, contact us at pride [at] uft [dot] org (pride[at]uft[dot]org).

As an official constituency group of the AFL-CIO, Pride at Work fights for full equality in the workplace, ensuring that "an injury to one is an injury to all" applies to every worker, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.
