Selina Ahoklui

Selina Ahoklui, the 1998 New York State Teacher of the Year, died on May 22. She was 76 years old.

Helene R. Sacher taught English language learners in District 10 in the Bronx and was a UFT member for 47 years.

Dorothy Evans

Dorothy Evans was a paraprofessional at PS 75 in the Bronx and a UFT member for 29 years.

Johanna Schwencke

Johanna Schwencke taught physical education at William Cullen Bryant HS in Queens for many years and also served as the UFT chapter leader.

Robert Rizzotti

Robert Rizzotti was a 5th-grade teacher at PS 276 in Brooklyn.

Edward Markowitz

Edward Markowitz taught air-conditioning and refrigeration at DeWitt Clinton HS in the Bronx for 22 years.
