The National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE)’s English Language Arts Teacher Educators (ELATE), in conjunction with the National Writing Project, offers teacher grants of up to $1,000 to support research projects that further the spirit and scholarship of James Moffett, a champion of such ideas as student-centered curricula, writing across the curriculum and alternatives to standardized testing. Proposals must address a specific question or problem to be studied and provide a clear timeline for execution.
