Paraprofessionals Chapter Special Election
The UFT Paraprofessionals Chapter is holding a special election this spring for the following positions: first vice chairperson, second vice chairperson and two Executive Board at‑large positions.
Nominating petitions must be signed by at least 50 paraprofessionals and received by the UFT by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1. A candidate may also submit a statement of no more than 75 words, which will be included on the ballot. The deadline for receipt of this statement is also 5 p.m. on April 1.

- You may send statements, but not petitions, via email to Yasmin Colon at ycolon [at] uft [dot] org (ycolon[at]uft[dot]org). Petitions must be mailed to the address above.
- All previously elected paraprofessional officers and two Executive Board at-large members continue to serve. The newly elected officers will finish the term ending June 30, 2027.
How the Election Works
- Paraprofessionals chapter members in good standing may nominate themselves for one of the four open positions.
- No member may run or serve in more than one position.
- You can download a nominating petition or pick up one in person at any of the five UFT borough offices.
- Nominees may submit a statement of no more than 75 words. You may submit it by mail or by email to ycolon [at] uft [dot] org (ycolon[at]uft[dot]org)
- You may not submit nominating petitions by email. Petitions must be mailed to the UFT at the address above.
- Ballots will be mailed to members on or about April 28. Ballots are due and will be counted at the UFT on June 8.
