Banner branding for kickoff of 2026 contract campaign

This year we start on one of the most crucial campaigns we have as a union: negotiating our contract. The UFT-DOE contract expires in November 2027, and we’re already preparing for bargaining with the DOE by convening our 750-member UFT Negotiating Committee, conducting an all-member survey and a fall teach-in, and forming Contract Action Teams for the fight ahead.

The all-member survey, which is going out on Nov. 2, is the first step in establishing our contract priorities. The Negotiating Committee will listen to your feedback and gather your suggestions to craft the demands we bring to the table.

We’ve always been a strong union, and now, the ranks of engaged and active UFT members are at an all-time high. We’re more powerful than ever before.

We represent a large and diverse group of members, and contract negotiations are never easy. This will be a fight to get what we and our students need. As with all our past campaigns, we will need all hands on deck. We are united and ready to win our strongest contract yet.
