Enroll in the UFT's Supplemental Health Insurance Program

Enrolling in the UFT's Supplemental Health Insurance Program (SHIP) is a quick and easy process. Here's how to get your SHIP enrollment up and running: 

Step 1: Are you enrolled in the Retired Teachers Chapter? 

SHIP is available only to UFT members enrolled in the Retired Teachers Chapter (RTC). If you haven't joined the RTC already, enrollment is a two-step process: 

  1. Register as a user on the UFT website. If you already have an account on the UFT website, you can skip this step.
  2. Re-enroll in the UFT as a retiree member and join the RTC.

Step 2: Enroll online or submit your SHIP enrollment card

Once you’ve joined the RTC, you’re ready to enroll in SHIP, either through our online form or by filling out a SHIP enrollment card and mailing it to us. The enrollment card has useful instructions on how and where to mail your completed card. Click a button below to get started.
