The salaries of UFT-represented employees covered by the Department of Education-UFT contracts will increase by 3% on Jan. 18, 2025.
The per diem and per session rates will also rise on that date. For teachers, the new per session rate will be $58.99 and the new coverage rate will be $49.58.
H-bank employees, both full-time and hourly, saw their raise reflected in their Jan. 31 checks. All full-time pedagogues and paraprofessionals will see an increase in their Feb. 14 checks, and pedagogues who work per diem or per session will see the 3% pay increase in their Feb. 18 paychecks. These paychecks will include money owed retroactive to Jan. 18.
The Jan. 18 raise is the third 3% raise so far in the 2023 contract. The next increase, of 3.25%, will take effect just eight months later, on Sept. 15, 2025.
The next annual bonus, of $700, will be payable by May 5, 2025.
Including the annual bonuses, the compounded value of the pay increase over the five years, two months and 15 days of the agreement ranges from 17.58% to 20.42%.
