The salaries of UFT-represented employees covered by the Department of Education-UFT contracts will increase by 3% on Jan. 18, 2025.
The per diem and per session rates will also rise on that date. For teachers, the new per session rate will be $58.99 and the new coverage rate will be $49.58.
The increase will first be reflected in the Feb. 14 paycheck for all pedagogues, H-bank employees and paraprofessionals. Pedagogues who work per diem or per session as well as hourly H-bank employees will see the 3% pay increase in their Feb. 18 paychecks. These February paychecks will include money owed retroactive to Jan. 18.
The Jan. 18 raise is the third 3% raise so far in the 2023 contract. The next increase, of 3.25%, will take effect just eight months later, on Sept. 15, 2025.
The next annual bonus, of $700, will be payable by May 5, 2025.
Including the annual bonuses, the compounded value of the pay increase over the five years, two months and 15 days of the agreement ranges from 17.58% to 20.42%.
