Louis Tagliani

Louis Taglione was the beloved longtime teacher, assistant principal and then principal of PS 23 in Richmondtown, Staten Island from 1964 to 1996.

Lennie (Atlantic) Brice

Lennie Brice was an elementary school teacher, including at PS 30 in Manhattan, and a UFT member for 26 years. After retiring in 1993, she continued to work as a substitute teacher for a decade, from 2001-2011, in Harlem and also in Englewood and Teaneck in New Jersey. She was a strong advocate for children everywhere and for the Harlem community.

Michael Zirkel

Michael Zirkel was a UFT member for 30 years, working as an Industrial Arts teacher at Evander Childs HS in the Bronx for much of his career.

Richard Paris

Richard Paris was a physical education teacher by trade and a UFT member for 40 years, working at McKinley JHS 259 and Shallow IS 227, both in Brooklyn.

Suzanne Darrigrand

Suzanne Darrigrand spent 28 years as a dedicated teacher in various schools, most recently sharing her love of music with the students of PS 15 in the Bronx.

Anne Bush

Anne Bush was a proud member of the UFT for over 3 decades, ending her long career as a teacher for gifted and talented kindergarten students at PS 153 in Queens.

Barry Berk

Barry Berk was a UFT member for 37 years, beginning his career at Junior High School 54 in Manhattan and, after teaching at two other schools, reached retirement as a social studies teacher at the Bronx High School of Science.
