More than 250 New York City public high school students gathered on Oct. 20 for the UFT’s Future in Focus college and career fair, exploring the benefits of organized labor and featuring a job fair with representatives from a variety of unions.

Stepping up to support families

Albert Shanker College Scholarship Fund Awards
The UFT awarded $5,000 Albert Shanker college scholarships to 189 high school seniors at the 53rd annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony & Reception on June 7 at UFT headquarters in Manhattan. The scholarships go to academically excellent and financially eligible New York City public high school seniors and post-graduate students. Eight post-graduate students also received scholarships.
Family Literacy and Book Fair

Virtual Parent Conferences
Four UFT fall parent conferences in October and November, held virtually for the second consecutive year, drew nearly 350 parents and featured workshops, speakers, resources and surprises.
Happy coats-giving!
