It is designed for early child care professionals, New York City licensed and registered family child care and group family child care providers and 3-K and pre-K DOE teachers. The LLEYL program provides guidance and strategies for daily child-centered activities that support language and literacy development of infants and toddlers. This five-session course includes engaging professional learning sessions, hands-on activities and free materials to implement LLEYL in your program.

Providers attending all five sessions will earn 20 hours of credit toward their 30-hour professional development requirement for OCFS topics one (principles of child development) and three (child day care program development). Shattering the Stigma: In Our Own Voice (MAP)

Mental illness and addiction affect people regardless of race, education, or career. To help shatter the stigmas and stereotypes around these conditions, the UFT Member Assistance Program has partnered with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI-NYC) to bring a unique presentation, “In Our Own Voice”, to our members. Two trained volunteers who are living with serious mental health conditions will share their experiences of mental illness and recovery. The hour-long presentation consists of three sections: What Happened, What Helps, and What’s Next. Members will have the opportunity to ask questions, share their own experiences, and learn about available mental health resources.
