UFT Manhattan Meet and Greet with Tom Brown

Please join us for a friendly and informative meet and greet with UFT Assistant Treasurer Tom Brown, chair of the New York City Teachers’ Retirement Board. This session will include a discussion on TRS’ new Roth investment option as well as essential guidance on understanding your pension.

UFT Middle Schools Division Conference

Register to attend the 2026 UFT Middle School Division Conference. This conference is your chance to recharge, reconnect and return to your classroom with fresh strategies and renewed energy. Breakfast, lunch and refreshments will be served. Please register no later than Friday, Jan. 30. It’s sure to be a fun-filled day of problem-solving, honest conversation and collaboration! 

Staying on Course: Using Learning Targets to Guide Scaffolding and Differentiation

Earn four hours of CTLE credit with the UFT Teacher Center. This session invites educators to consider how learning targets and success criteria can guide their instructional decisions. Participants will study the DOE's K-12 Mathematics Shifts, the five practices for teaching mathematics and how they support student learning. Using learning targets and success criteria as a lens, participants will reflect on what student work can reveal about students’ understanding.

Agents in Action: Building Classroom Partners with AI

Teachers and paraprofessionals are invited to register for an in-person intensive professional learning session where educators will move from using AI tools to creating them. This session focuses on designing custom classroom AI agents to streamline planning, support differentiation and help teachers devise the best ways to engage learners with varying interests.

Supporting Immigrant Students and Families

The UFT Asian American Heritage Committee will host a town hall with Katherine Kurjakovic, a UFT English language learner specialist. We'll discuss what support we as educators can provide to immigrant students and families at a time when they may be feeling deeply unsafe. Registration is required.

Irish Heritage Committee Celebration

The UFT Irish Heritage Committee is inviting UFT members to celebrate Irish culture and history. The cost to attend is $20 for members and $30 for nonmembers. Enjoy a traditional Irish buffet dinner capped off with coffee, tea and dessert.

2026 Paraprofessionals Awards Luncheon

Please join the UFT and your fellow paraprofessionals from across the city at this year’s Paraprofessionals Awards Luncheon. Our premier annual event for paraprofessionals features breakfast, CTLE workshops, a festival with games and prizes, a bag of wellness freebies and a luncheon.

Manhattan Parent Conference 2025

More than 100 parents and community members gathered at UFT headquarters on Oct. 25 for the UFT’s annual Manhattan parent conference. Attendees learned about first aid and emergency preparedness, trained to become IEP (Individualized Education Program) parent members and spread the word about the rights of immigrant students and their families.
