Bright Horizons Day Care workers in downtown Brooklyn have triumphantly pinned their “Union Proud” buttons back on to celebrate winning a National Labor Relations Board settlement in October that ensures the UFT members "have the right to wear union buttons and other union insignia in the workplace.”

Resolution in support of the American Federation of Musicians, Local 802

The UFT wholeheartedly supports the members of Local 802 of the American Federation of Musicians in their efforts to secure the residual payments that are often the lifeblood of their profession.

Resolution to support NYC transit workers

The United Federation of Teachers supports the TWU as they negotiate on behalf of their members and supports a fair contract for transit workers.

UFT wins Regents scoring grievance

An independent arbitrator has ruled in a precedent-setting decision that the Department of Education improperly denied retention rights to a teacher for Regents scoring in June on the grounds that she had not participated in scoring Regents the previous January.
