Get in the fight to ‘Fix Tier 6’

New York Teacher

If you were hired after 2012, then you fall under the Tier 6 guidelines for retirement. This means you cannot retire without any penalties until you are 63 years old. There are changes looking to be made, but it will take all of us to get it done. If you started after 2012, ask yourself, “Do I really want to work until I am 63? Do I want my retirement and pension benefits to improve?” To become part of the solution, speak to your chapter leader and see how you can get involved.
