Hexagonal thinking article resonated

New York Teacher

I enjoyed Sarah Kuhner’s Teacher to Teacher column headlined “Make connections with hexagonal thinking” [Nov. 2]. Since the focus of this approach is the relationships between the story elements, it would be more powerful to have these relationships graphically demonstrated by leaving space for drawing lines and labeling the relationships between the story elements, as is done in many graphic organizers. This would graphically represent student discussions.

It is a wonderful approach to making abstract graphic organizers into a hands-on learning experience.
