UFT President Michael Mulgrew issued a statement regarding the New York City budget:

“We will be working with the City Council to ensure that in the final budget schools get the funds they need for Pre-K and other vital services that make a difference in the lives of the city’s families. Meanwhile, the state budget agreement has added additional safeguards that ensure that the money the city spends on education includes reducing class sizes and building additional classroom seats where needed, a priority for the city’s public-school parents.”
