Former Retired Teachers Chapter Leader Tom Murphy (third from left) received a Retiree Member of the Year Award at the Representative Assembly of NYSUT, the UFT’s state affiliate, in Rochester in May. After retiring as UFT political director, Murphy served as the head of the RTC from 2009 to 2024.
