Fight for RESPECT continues
Paraprofessionals fanned out across the city in January to sit down with City Council members to urge them to support a revised "RESPECT check" bill that would provide an annual check of no less than $10,000 to the educators whose ranks are suffering a severe crisis in recruitment and retention.

Members ‘Make It Visible’
The UFT in December launched its “6” Days campaign to “Fix Tier 6 in ’26.” Members across the city are making the issue visible, making it human and making it loud, with educators set to head to Albany on March 8 to rally and lobby state lawmakers to fix the inequities in the Tier 6 state pension tier.
