UFT President Michael Mulgrew told the Delegate Assembly on March 23 that while members should not let down their guard regarding COVID-19 protocols, the situation continues to improve.

UFT President Michael Mulgrew lauded Gov. Kathy Hochul’s state budget proposal, telling the Delegate Assembly on Jan. 19 that “the starting place for the budget is the best I have ever seen since I’ve been president.”

UFT President Michael Mulgrew told delegates at the Delegate Assembly on Nov. 17 that the union plans to seek extensive member input to help shape priorities for upcoming negotiations on the next contract and health care.

The Delegate Assembly passed a total of six resolutions during April and May at two regularly scheduled meeting and one special DA.

A resolution to endorse eight candidates for elected office was among three resolutions approved by the Delegate Assembly at a remote meeting on March 24.

The UFT’s Delegate Assembly overwhelmingly approved a resolution to endorse 21 candidates for elective office during its virtual meeting on Jan. 13.

The Delegate Assembly overwhelmingly approved four resolutions at its Nov. 18 meeting, which took place via conference call.

The March and April Delegate Assembly meetings took place in unusual formats because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The delegates voted on Jan. 15 to endorse City Council Member Donovan Richards for Queens borough president in the special election on March 24.

“I’m just here to say thank you,” Queens District Attorney-elect Melinda Katz told the Delegate Assembly on Nov. 20. “It was obvious the work you did.”
