Victim Support Program
Learn about the benefits of the UFT's Victim Support Program. Co-sponsored by the UFT’s Safety and Health Department and the city Department of Education, the Victim Support Program is the place for members to turn for support when tragedy strikes. All assistance is free and strictly confidential.
Legal Services Plan
Learn all the ways UFT members benefit from the UFT Legal Services Plan, which provides trusted legal help exclusively for UFT members.
Dental care
The UFT Welfare Fund offers dental benefits through two programs: the Scheduled Benefit Plan, which provides services through either a designated panel of dentists or a dentist of your choice, and Dentcare, a no-cost dental HMO.
Sabbaticals
UFT members who are teachers or other pedagogical staff — including school counselors, social workers and school psychologists — are eligible to take a sabbatical leave to enhance their teaching skills, restore their health if they are ill or achieve state certification in a shortage area.

Cancer care and prevention
The UFT offers a range of programs for members facing a cancer diagnosis that combine compassionate support with access to top-quality clinical care. The 3D mammogram, a sophisticated new tool, is a recent addition to the mix.
