Inside My Classroom

Exploring colors and fine motor skills

Exploring colors and fine motor skills
Jonathan Fickies

As the LEGO STEM teacher, I teach K–2 students at my District 75 school. I built this LEGO corner so I can work with students individually or in small groups, and also to give them some free time to explore and play when needed. We work on colors, patterns, letters, and fine motor and matching skills to support their academic skills and work toward their IEP goals. The students love to take pictures of what they’ve built to show their families.
