You must return to teaching within five years of the effective date of resignation and must apply to withdraw the resignation using the Application for Withdrawal of Resignation form on the Department of Education website. The application must be submitted to the DOE on or before the first day you report to school for the reinstatement with tenure to be processed. Whether you successfully withdraw your resignation or not, by resigning you will forfeit your claim to retroactive salary payments stemming from the 2014 contract.Â
