SHIP 2025 premium notices
The UFT's Supplemental Health Insurance Program's 2025 premium notices will be sent in early January.
New spending cap for Medicare Part D
If you have opted for Medicare’s voluntary prescription drug rider (Part D) for 2025, you may potentially spend less out of pocket for prescription drugs. Under the federal Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, beneficiaries now have a spending cap of $2,000 on covered drugs, after which Medicare pays 100% of the cost for the rest of the year.
Hotline to a helping hand
More than a year into its operation, the Retired Paraprofessional Support line has proved more successful than anticipated — both for those calling in and for those answering the phones.
Retirees help turn out the vote
UFT retirees turned out in force this election cycle to make calls and knock on doors in support of Kamala Harris for president and other union-endorsed candidates down the ballot.
