After three years without their annual luncheon, UFT Retired Teachers Chapter members reunited to celebrate their service to the union and the integral role retirees play in strengthening the power of the UFT. More than 400 retirees attended the event on May 30 at the New York Hilton Midtown.

More than 50 UFT family childcare providers received awards for chapter leadership, outstanding professional services, excellent regulatory compliance and other achievements at four ceremonies in different boroughs this spring. 

Almost 1800 middle and high school students chose from among thousands of dresses and tuxedos, then accessorized with shoes and jewelry, at the UFT's annual Prom Boutique on May 11 in the union's Bronx borough office.

The Nurse Recognition Day awards dinner on May 4 celebrated everything that defines Federation of Nurses/UFT nurses — compassion, humanity, leadership and a passion for care, as well as putting patients first and contributing to a unified voice through union service.

A roomful of teachers breathes in rhythm, eyes closed, to the sound of Bach’s Cello Suite No. 1 - one of many music-based mindfulness techniques learned in a MindUp for Music workshop at UFT headquarters on May 16.

“You have to go through to get to,” Darryl McDaniels of the iconic hip-hop group Run-DMC told more than 350 students in the Bronx, speaking about the adversity they may face on their path to greatness during the UFT’s third annual Let’s Talk About It event.
