Deadline extended to complete special education remote learning plans

The deadline to complete Special Education Remote Learning Plans has been extended to Wednesday, April 8.

We heard your concerns, spoke with the DOE and secured this deadline extension. As of now, there is no "revise" function for the remote learning plans. Once you finalize a remote learning plan, you must re-open it as a new document in order to make changes. The demographic information pre-populates, but you'll have to re-enter all the other information.

For this reason, we recommend that you don't make changes to remote learning plans often. We want you to take your time to establish what works best for you and your students, and we understand that it may change as we move through this process. Once a permanent remote service model is established, you'll have the opportunity to make any necessary changes. By that point, we anticipate that there will be a way to revise the plan you've entered. We're working with the DOE on it now.

We've also received inquiries about paraprofessional supports and services with regard to the remote learning plans. Paraprofessional services do not need to be included in these plans. Instead, paraprofessionals should continue to use SESIS encounter attendance to document any supports and services they provide remotely. They can include any specifics in the session notes.
