Participants will explore research-based pedagogical practices that can be used to design instruction that meets the needs of English Language Learners. Special emphasis will be placed on student empowerment and agency through inclusive environments and assessments. Participants will be required to complete a paper, midterm quiz and final project.

Register for this graduate-level course designed for New York City Teachers. Participants can earn three A+ or P credits towards their salary differential and 45 CTLE hours in the education of English language learners. Each 15-session course can also be used to fulfill three semester hours of the "Methods of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages" requirement for state certification in English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). 

All new teachers and school-related professionals applying for New York State certification must take this state mandated workshop.
