Resolution in support of 2018 May Day and rally for worker and immigrant rights

The United Federation of Teachers will fully support and participate in the May Day 2018 Rally for Worker and Immigrant Rights at 5:30 p.m. in Washington Square Park, Manhattan, on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.

Resolution on continuing the fight for public education in Puerto Rico

The UFT, in solidarity with the Asociacíon de Maestros de Puerto Rico and other trade unions, will continue to find solutions that advance our shared values of public education and worker rights through collective bargaining.

Resolution to reduce class sizes to Contract for Excellence law levels

The UFT will continue to fight to get the Campaign for Fiscal Equity monies dispersed to NYC schools.

Resolution in favor of gun safety

The UFT will stand with anti-gun violence activists, including the brave and outspoken students of New York City and Parkland, to make this country a safer place and will work with advocates and students across this country to make needed changes happen.

Resolution to strengthen the union in the face of any Janus vs. AFSCME verdict

The UFT will work with other municipal unions to come up with a long-term plan to ensure the health of the labor movement in the state while we await the Janus decision.

Resolution on the 58th anniversary of the UFT

We, the current members of the UFT, heartily thank those who preceded us and whose efforts allow us today to proudly celebrate our 58th anniversary, knowing that the UFT has made unique and important contributions to public education, to unionism and to millions of people’s lives.
