Resolution in support of the 250 UPS drivers who face firing over a labor dispute

The UFT stands in solidarity with the UPS drivers in Queens and pledges to help them in their fight to retain their jobs and to ensure fairness and decent treatment by their employer.

Resolution in support of raising the federal minimum wage to $10.10 an hour

The UFT supports the Fair Minimum Wage Act of 2013 and will work to support its passage in Congress.

Resolution supporting California teachers unions' defense of due process and seniority rights

The UFT strongly supports the vigorous efforts of our colleagues in the California Federation of Teachers and the California Teachers Association in defending against the deceitful and dangerous claims of a lawsuit now being heard in a California court which seeks to overturn the state’s laws granting teachers due process and seniority rights.

Resolution in honor of the 60th anniversary of the Brown v. Board Supreme Court ruling

The UFT commemorates the 60th anniversary of the Brown v. Board of Education ruling and honors its significance to our country’s history through the UFT’s continuing fight for racial, social and economic justice in our schools, our city and our country.

Resolution honoring the 54th anniversary of the founding of the United Federation of Teachers

The UFT acknowledges and celebrates this 54th anniversary of our union's founding, and honors the officers and members whose sacrifice over the years have kept the union strong in the face of adversity and made it a model of effective and progressive unionism for all those we serve.

Resolution calling for the DOE to have a lab specialist in every secondary school

The UFT calls on the DOE to immediately use all lab specialists now in excess and to hire more lab specialists in order that every secondary school in the city has a lab specialist. It also calls on the DOE to ensure that all science teachers and other relevant staff receive lab-safety training.
