UFT-represented staff cannot be required to attend evening conferences from the school building unless the school has agreed to a modification with a pre-approved SBO. Single-session schools have four three-hour evening conferences a year in September (back to school), November, March and May and two two-hour afternoon conferences a year in November and March. Multisession, District 75 and District 79 schools have two 2.5-hour evening parent-teacher conferences and two two-hour afternoon parent-teacher conference dates in November and March. These schools do not have parent-teacher conferences in September or May.
Parents and caregivers may request to have an in-person conference at a time other than the scheduled parent-teacher conference dates. The conference will be scheduled for a mutually agreeable date and time, take place during the contractual workday, and be conducted in a manner consistent with the school safety plan.
